Fabergé Collaboration
As a 9 year old boy battling cancer, Cameron Gooch became an inspirational Houston Astros fan, honorary Astros player #17, and a friend and hero to Carlos and Daniella Correa as well as the Astros organization. A year ago, Cameron’s family had been praying for a sign from their beloved son who had lost his battle to cancer. At that time, a butterfly landed on Carlos’ shoulder during the game where he rejoined his team after spending 2 months recovering from injury. To Cameron’s family, that butterfly represented a symbol that Cam was safe in heaven and looking over his family and friends. Incidentally, a few days later Cam’s family received a picture of butterfly picture with the poem “As I sit here safe in heaven” by Hazel Birdsall, which served as confirmation that Cam will always be present for his loved ones.
As a way of honoring Cameron and the many children battling cancer, Correa Family Foundation joined forces with world-renowned jeweler, Fabergé. Daniella Correa helped design a limited edition butterfly locket of which only 17 pieces, in honor of Cameron’s Astros number, were produced. Fabergé donated part of the profits from butterfly pieces, as well as any sales made to clients who mentioned Correa Family Foundation during the campaign, to support underserved childhood cancer patients.
